The series The Answer to Dust consists in composite images that juxtapose archival sources (work accidents simulations experiments records & workers testimonies) held in different archival dossiers but which are related to the same event, the 1959 coal mining disaster of Sainte-Fontaine, France. Composites constitute a form of re-assemblage of archival consignation and explore a tension between the logistics of documentation and the transmission of affective power.
